Welcome to The Nantyglo & Blaina Charter Group


Located within the upper reaches of the Gwent Valleys in South Wales, Nantyglo and Blaina has an exciting history of Scotch Cattle activity, riots and the Chartist Uprising.

View the story of the Chartist Movement and events leading up to the March on 4th November 1839 at the Chartist Information and Visitor Centre in Salem Chapel in Blaina. Find out about the characters involved, John Frost, Zephaniah Williams and William Jones, what motivated them and their legacy.

The Centre is staffed by volunteers and is open from March to the begining of November.
